Publishing

Wow, it’s been a while. Can’t believe how busy life can get. However time ot update about my new book: Obi the Super Puppy and the Mystery of the Red Mist. The third and final review is done, so now it’s just waiting on the cover of the book. I tell you it is hard work going through that whole review process. Thank goodness I have some wonderful friends who help by reading my text blocks. It is so hard to spot errors in your own writing and then after a while it all blurs into one. So to have some fresh eyes is fantastic.

I love the whole publishing process, but try to contain the excitement until I actually see the book. It seems so unreal. Obi is getting closer and I can’t wait. Will keep you all updated here.

Show Day

Today was Labrador Champ show day, in the freezing cold. After some serious lifting, setting up and working out we managed to crate our  number of Labradors and actually have them all settled. Stitch was up against a large group in Puppy dog. He loves to sit, lie down and generally try to extract the fritz from my hand. However he did manage to stand relatively well and trotted nicely. Alas his legs are still the most obvious part of his lanky ten month old body. His Brothers Tramp and Wizard came first and third respectively, so he comes from a great litter. He’ll grow into those legs some day – in the mean time I still get to take home the best dog!

I also had the interesting experience of showing Stitch’s sister Fantasia (Tasia), now that was fun. It is one thing to show your own dog, but someone elses, well that certainly puts the pressure on. If I thought Stitch could be lazy, he’s got nothing on his sister. She loves to sit, drop and does a great impersonation of a slug. She even dropped while the Judge was trying to examine her – least Stitch gets this bot. Eventually I was able to coax her to stand and she even managed to  nicely around the ring. Lots more practice needed for both of us. Still she is very sweet and who couldn’t love those beautiful puppy eyes.

Bring on the Royal Adelaide Show – hopefully both my dogs stand!!!
